    Independency

    in Sex, Love & Dating

Being an independent women can most definitely be hard especially when I’m one (17). And it’s like it’s hard to be in a relationship because I have a job and he doesn’t (17). So I’m the one getting him lyfts to places he still finds a way to make sure I eat and all sometimes but I don’t wanna baby him. I’m notttt going to sit here and make sure he eat and the fact he has money to not only get him a Lyft back but also to get something to eat irritates me. Am I selfish ? I don’t think so.

Everytime I deal with men who don't have jobs I end up extremely bitter in the end. Only because they end up doing something awful and it just brings so much resentment. You'll think you're not spending much on him but it all adds up and becomes a habit. Especially if you have codependency issues and have a hard time saying no and setting boundaries. He's definitely going to have to get a job so you can ensure there's an equal give and take in the relationship.

Like it’s already hard being an independent black woman as a teenager, so, i don’t want to overstep, but he needs to find a way to help out more than what he already is. Because you shouldn’t be questioning whether you’re being selfish or not when you’re the one working to support the both of you.

No. It’s actually very generous that you are trying to help him out with your money
